Trim-Tex Drywall Products/CRP Racing Corvette starts out fast at the SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge GT season opener in Sebring, FL.

Brian Kubinski, of Shorewood, IL, drove the #12 Corvette into the top 5 fastest cars in Practice Session 2 at the season opener in Sebring.  This topped the #6 position Kubinski held in Practice Session 1.  During qualifying, the Corvette picked up a vibration, but Brian still managed a 7th place position.  The vibration was later attributed to the left side rear wheel weight becoming detached.  After an exciting standing start,  Kubinski spun in the 1st corner after contact from behind, which sent him to the rear of the pack.  Never one to stay in the back for long, Kubinski charged up to 13th position and got the yellow caution he needed.  On the restart, Brian went to 11th place in a matter of 2 laps.  As he was passing the 10th place car there was contact between the two cars.  Once Kubinski got going again he managed to salvage 16th place.  Says CRP Racing owner, Nicholas Short, "We had a top 5 car all weekend, but luck just was not on our side.  This weekend was the anniversary of the devastating trailer fire we had last year that burned up the car and we had hoped to do alot better."
